Scarf for Tech Addicts

This has to be one of the strangest things I’ve ever seen…
These privacy scarves were developed by grad student Joe Malia. They prevent glare, but promote suffocation. (Then again, they’re probably very warm in the winter.)
The problem is that, while you’re in your little techie cocoon, pickpockets can totally have their way with you. Not to mention that these things look ridiculous–another problem for the fashion-conscious.
I have no idea if they’re simply part of this kid’s doctoral thesis or actually available commercially. Let me know if you hear any news…
