Stickers Check For Fruit Ripeness

Everything else is becoming more modern so why not fruits? A professor at the University of Arizona has created a special sticker which will take the headache out of fruit shopping.

These small stickers will have the ability to tell you whether or not that peach your hungrily eyeing is ripe or not. It is also good for choosing fruits that aren’t ripe yet so you can save them until later when they are ripe. That way you don’t have fruits that spoil almost as soon as you bring them home.

The sticker works by testing the ethylene gases released by fruits. It doesn’t start working immediately however. Once a farmer puts it on the fruit it takes between one and two days to get the results in the form of color strips on the sticker.

This technology unfortunately won’t be at a grocery store near you for at least another 2 years.
