Apple Goes After Podcasts
September 23, 2006
Apple is now going after Podcasts. Mainly Podcast Ready and mypodder. Apple says that they are infringing on their trademark. Many have become aware that Apple is going after most people that use the word pod.
I can’t say they are right or wrong for protecting their trademark, but my thing is, this has been out for a while now. Why didn’t they go after them when podcasts were first created. Podcasts are now used by everyone from tv shows to preachers, to regular radio stations and everyday people and bloggers. It has become a big thing and only now they choose to go after it? I don’t get it. It could be the fact that they don’t want to destroy podcasts, they want to own them.

Sony to Cut Price of PS3–in Japan
September 22, 2006
The price of the PlayStation three is going down by 20 percent, Sony said, but only for that Japanese launch of the console. The U.S. and European prices will remain the same.
This will make the cost of the much-hyped and often-delayed game machine nearly 50,000 yen (about $430 U.S.) when it launches in Japan in November. The cost in the states will be $499 for the console with 20 GB of memory and $599 for the 60 GB model.
Sony says there will be no more delays in the release of the game machine, which will have high-definition capability and will be competing with the cheaper Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii.
