Cell phone companies are in a fight to prevent the resale of their phones. The companies say that individuals are going to places like Walmart and Radio Shack to buy hundreds even thousands of the wireless phones in some cases and they then sell them for profit in Hong Kong and Latin America.
The Department of Homeland Security have been on the lookout for such people because they feel that some are getting the phones in bulk to help fund terrorism or use the cell phones as detonators.
Police have already caught a few of these so called resalers and in some states such as Florida, they are waiting for trial. Walmart has already put in effect a limit on how many phones you can buy at any one time.
