It was at CEDIA, and it was an expansion of the PureVision Elite line: Pioneer released three new plasma displays, dubbed PRO-940HD (42-inch), PRO-1140HD (50-inch), and PRO-1540HD (60-inch). All three models include:
- Support for Pioneer’s Home Media Gallery
- USB and Ethernet ports (with the possibility of streaming media from DLNA-compliant PCs)
- Support for Microsoft PlaysForSure DRM, MPEG-1, WMV9, and MPEG-2 codecs
- NTSC/ATSC tuners
- A CableCard slot
- HDMI inputs, PC input and RS-232C support.
- 1024 x 768 resolution (for the 42-inch one), 1365 x 768 pixels for the two larger ones.
Prices come in at $4,000, $5,500, and $8,000. These are sure big and impressive as well, aren’t they.
