nokia 2630

May 31, 2008

I got my Nokia 2630 free from my Mobile Network Postpaid plan.

It’s a simple phone but worth it to buy cause it has fm radio, bluetooth and camera. Three features I’m looking for in a cellphone. It is also super slim with Metal back casing so it looks so sophisticated. Got mine in color white so that adds extra glam too.

Too bad it doesn’t have a memory card so I’m stuck with limited pictures.

Kindle: Amazon’s New Wireless Reading Device

May 31, 2008

Amazon’s
Kindle
is a portable reading device that allows you to download reading material and do it wirelessly.

The Kindle screen is sharp and gives the reader an experience much like reading ink on paper. A computer is not needed for the Kindle to work. It works by using a 3G network and content is delivered by their own delivery system, Amazon Whispernet.

A service plan, a contract, nor monthly wireless bills are not required. Kindle lets you preview books before downloading. The Kindle Store has ample reading materials for you to download, more than 120,000 books and also newspapers, magazines, and blogs. You preview first and if you like what you see, then you can purchase the download. Books are automatically delivered in less than one minute.

The
Kindle
comes at at rather hefty price of $395.00, but for the avid reader this could be a great device that can be taken along anywhere you go.

Bored Of Black?

May 30, 2008

School kids may be in for a surprise after their summer vacation! Just in case their schools decide to stash away blackboards and install Panasonic’s Elite Panaboard instead. This whiteboard allows direct display of contents of a computer screen through its large 77″ screen for high-impact presentations of school lessons or say, business charts. And in a free period, who knows, the classroom may turn into a mini theatre? Cheers to the start of movie time in class time, kids!

The World’s First PDA Ban

May 30, 2008

Perhaps for the first time ever in the world, PDA devices have been proscribed. The Alton Towers Resort theme park in UK has imposed a PDA ban, which took effect on 25th May, 2008 and will continue until 1st June, 2008. You might be befuddled by this unprecedented case of PDA policing. But that look of perplexity will be replaced by a more relaxed one, when you learn the reason behind the PDA ban.

Apparently the powers that be at the amusement park are not too pleased with the pivotal role technology is playing in parent-child communications; one-to-one talks are increasingly being replaced by texts, emails and phone calls.

So they decided to distance parents from their PDAs in order to bring them closer to their progeny. The ban has been imposed on a trial basis and might get a fresh lease of life if found successful. But a question still lingers? Is this ban really going to be helpful when children themselves might be more interesting in their gadgets than their parents?

Golden Gamer

May 28, 2008

A gaming PC must be extremely powerful, so when Voodoo launched the Elemental Omen PC, I was a bit sceptical. While the gold case qualifies as perhaps the dorkiest piece of bling ever, it’s what’s inside that counts. Powered by two 512 MB ATI Radeon X1900XTX graphics cards, 4 gigs of RAM and 2 terabytes of harddrive space, this thing screams overkill. There’s also a 46″ Samsung LCD but, at 46″, it isn’t a monitor but a giant TV screen! A pretty impressive package, and you needn’t worry about its shipping charges as the folks at Voodoo pick the tab for that!

Stylish Shots

May 27, 2008

If it’s style you’re looking for in your camera, then you are a Cybershot guy! And if you’re interested in a high resolution snapper, go in for the 10 megapixel Sony DSC-T300. In addition to a unique cover design that protects the camera lens and prevents dust build-up, its wide 16:9 aspect ratio LCD screen very easy to operate. The large 3.5″ screen is also layered with anti-reflective coating to achieve high visibility even under strong sunlight.
