Recharge your iPhone with a solar iPhone case
December 16, 2008
If you happen to know someone who spends a lot of time in the great outdoors and carry around Apple’s greatest contribution to cell phones, then take a look at this.
Here is an iPhone case from OTAS Corporation in Japan, that takes in the good ole sunshine and stores it inside a battery to charge up your iPhone when it’s own battery has drained.
This LC-1500 iPhone case contains a small solar array and built-in 1500mAh Lithium-ion battery that can charge using the sun’s rays in just 13 hours. Or, if you happen to be near a powered USB port, you charge the case battery in just 3 hours.
OTAS is also offering an auxiallary battery adapter (BT-800) which connects to your iPhone to provide additional power using the power of the sun. It too includes a small solar panel and an 800mAh Lithium-ion battery that will charge up in 16 hours, or just 3 hours if you use the USB port charging option.
