If you’re an iPhone owner, you’ve probably thought about creating an app at one point. You know, those wonderful things that do just about anything when you tap them? Well, for starters, you’re going to need a Mac, unless you’re an elite programmer (then you can make a ‘hackintosh’ – but this is of dubious legality and I wouldn’t recommend it). Secondly, you’ll need an Apple ID with developing capabilities. This part’s easy: just go to http://developer.apple.com/iphone/program/start/register/ to find out how to do that. Then, you’ll need to know a whole load of C++ and Objective-C. Now, to get a real handle on this, a college diploma is probably required, but basic knowledge may be picked up off the ‘net (just type ‘c++’ into Google). See? Making an iPhone app is hard, so next time you grumble about how much those apps cost, think about all the effort that went into making them!
