Casio watch-camera

June 27, 2009

The Casio Wrist Camera watch comes in two types – one spotting a black and white camera and the other spotting a color camera.

The camera has about 1 MBytes memory that facilitates capturing around 100 shots. The clicked images can be transferred to a serial port in the PC via a Passive Infra Red Sensor that comes along with the watch.

The lens has 1.1 mm focal length and a fixed aperture equal to F:2.8 shots objects, and is located 30 cm to infinity. An electronic shutter works with the exposure from 1/11 to 1/1660 sec depending on illumination, which could varies from 100 to 45000 luxes. The image is registered and recorded line by line, so the frequency of the surrounding light flickers becomes important.

The time is displayed digitally. Apart from the time and camera, the watch features a calendar and stop watch. The camera operates on a battery saving mode and one has to press a button to view the time. The battery case can be opened with the help of a coin, without resorting to the aid of a screwdriver.

The functionality apart, the watch measures 40X52X16 mm and weighs 32 g and has a particular ugly appearance.
