Thought I’d come on here and give any owners of an Apple computer a tip. I was having compatibility issues when I first bought my Apple Macbook, which is an unavoidable problem all users trying to work on both Apple and Windows will at some time face, and the most problematic one was the lack of a word processor which saves files as .doc files, or in “word ‘97” format. I am no fan of forking out any more money in accordance with the scam that Apple pull to make sure that every buyer of one of their products is forever lost in a mire of “essential” peripherals and accessories, so was not going to buy their software pack that contains Windows programs that can work on Apple, so searched elsewhere.
I found a free program online called Bean. It is quick and easy to download, doesn’t take up much space at all, and gives you no problems in installation. I have set it to be my default word processor when opening any files, and is a much better replacement to the awful TextEdit. I have version 2.2.0, and it works perfectly alongside any other program that saves files in .doc format. Just a little tip for anyone searching for useful software for their Apple computer…
