All Apple users will know how hard it is to get a powerpoint creator for their Mac. Unless you download an Adobe application, and pay over $50 for doing so, it is almost impossible to find a free one which doesn’t take up too much space on your hard drive and actually works well.
That’s why I have decided to tell you more about the openoffice.org application, going into more detail on the powerpoint element. You can save your documents as .ppt, which is a bonus when compatibility is a major issue and which also means that you can view your powerpoints on Apple’s free Preview application.
In openoffice’s .ppt you can create basic slides with all the elements that you can on Windows’ office powerpoint application. That said, it isn’t as specialist and doesn’t do as much, but for your basic needs it’s excellent, and free! I have yet to find any other free .ppt creators available online for Mac so if you know of one please let us know!
