Why Macs are more secure than Windows

While we are on the subject of Windows, I would like to discuss the topic of computer security; something that Microsoft’s Windows operating system is known to perform poorly on. It has often been claimed that the Apple Mac operating system is a lot safer security wise than its Microsoft made counterpart Windows, and to an extent this is true. However, it is important to look at reasons why people may say this. Firstly, the Windows operating system is used by a vast majority of computer users, so any virus spreader or hacker would want to target his malware towards Windows computer users. Take voting as an analogy. Usually, the election candidate targets election advertisements towards the majority and spends little time on the minority (with some exceptions, of course!). Likewise, virus spreaders would want to concentrate most of their time trying to crack the Windows operating system as cracking Apple Macs would result in a lower return for these nasty computer hackers! However, you should not buy an Apple Mac just because it is the least used (and hence the least targeted in malware attacks). Consider the features of both operating systems; I am sure they both have something for you!
