My sister in law gave me an earlier Christmas present, and I was thrilled to see that it was a Kindle. I opened it immediately, and I’ve already started using it. Unfortunately, I’ve never owned any of the other similar products, so I can’t compare it to the others. However, I absolutely love the kindle.
The greatest feature about this device is that you set up your account with amazon, and you use a credit card to set up your account. Then, you can search and download books directly from your Kindle. It uses wireless technology, kind of like a cell phone. You don’t have to be connected to the internet or have a wireless internet connection in your home.
I also love that you can download and read free samples before you buy a book. That way, you can analyze the writer’s style and themes before you commit to buying a book. I’m absolutely hooked.
There’s also some new, “experimental” features in which you can navigate the internet and listen to MP3 files. I find these features helpful because I am one of the few people in the US who doesn’t own an I-Phone.
However, I’m well aware that I’m in the minority in that sense.
Overall, I’d say that a kindle is the PERFECT gift for book lovers. Many book lovers are like me in the fact that they’re running out of book shelves to store books. Plus, I can’t wait to travel with my new Kindle. In the past, I packed a separate bag full of books alone. Now, I can thrown my Kindle in my purse, and I’ll have endless hours of reading!
