Self Guard SG-210 button-cam
January 12, 2006
Here’s Starnex’ Self Guard (SG-210), a portable audio and video recording system–in other words, a camera coupled to a microphone, to store both types of data. The microphone is in the shape of a button, and can easily be worn on a suit. The data is transmitted in real time using Bluetooth technology; the device detects and automatically records movements, and can be driven remotely.

The MoGo Mouse
January 9, 2006
Here’s a pretty thin Bluetooth mouse with a metallic look, designed for laptops (but still with the feel of any ‘normal’ desktop mouse). It charges via the PC Card slot, and uses the laptop’s Bluetooth to function when needed. The MoGo mouse will retail in March for about $70.

Motorola-R.E.D. Audex Helmet
January 8, 2006
These days, I really regret not being able to attend the CES: while it’s probably not the kind of show I’d give an arm and a le to go to, I still feel somehow frustrated to discover all the gadgets and innovations presented there through other blogs and press releases only. For this one, I once again need to rely on an external source, and I’m happily going to link to Gizmodo for their entry about the Audex-Helmet. Indeed, Motorola has teamed with R.E.D. to come up with this helmet. Most of us who’ve once set foot in a pair of rollerblades or on a skateboard have probably wish, at some point or another, to be able to bring music with us, and not only on an old tape-reading walkman. Thus, here comes the Audex Helmet, “a helmet with Bluetooth-enabled speakers and a microphone for when you’re doing extreme sports. You can now have a hands-free conversation with someone or enjoy MP3s while you pull off that 720″. Enjoy!

Samsung SGH i858 gets thumbs up from FCC
December 29, 2005

The Samsung SGH i858 isn’t on the market just yet (in fact, Samsung has not yet officially announced its release). But it was recently approved by the FCC.
What makes this notable? How about this: the fact that the SGH i858 features a 320×240-pixel, 262,000-color touch screen.
Sweet, eh? Besides the touch screen, the SGH i858 slider phone comes with all the typical features: Bluetooth, expandable memory, infrared, USB, and 2-megapixel auto-focus camera with flash.
No word yet on when it will be made available…
